As far as time goes He doesn't act like he did in the beginning As far as time goes I never noticed it was passing when we were together Or the change in weather He takes me to the beach Skateboarding to the park at 10 PM He holds my hand In the busy intersections in San Francisco Oh, he knows what he's doing And we've traveled hours together Feels like my heart is on display The longer that I ask to be with him He just seems to walk the other way I'm moving across the country In a couple of months I call his number when I'm driving Because I like to hear his voice when I'm sad He says "I love you" back to me But it doesn't even mean the same damn thing I've drawn a hundred portraits But they reflect the person I fell in love with in the beginning And we've made a lot of promises They just don't make sense for what's in store And we've said "goodbye" a couple of times now I know this next will be even harder The thing is, I know that if he asked I'd fold so quickly, he has this hold on me Because he learned that song from my favorite movie Because he told me exactly why he loved me Because I know that I want to be his more than anything And as far as time goes I'd stay forever
