Ours to Own It's 2024 and still no signs of global independence and getting it right Dictator Putin that commie bastard post WW2 starts another fight Democracy backs the lonely Ukes Nato ready ready at the helm Russia threatens Ukes with nukes freedom defends the democratic realm It's a crazy scary world we live in 4 billion years in the making We only have perhaps another 5 before our sun does its forsaking We only have one chance as I see it we humans are more than likely alone While the Universe does its dance no help will come from the unknown Superstition is not not the solution in fact it's most of the problem Blind faith is not resolution in a world suffering from a false hope constitution Praying is not contribution when it's conditional upon the unknown Delusion is not not the answer to humanity's destiny rather it's ours to own It's 2025 and still no signs of self-determination and getting it right In the USA trust in guns and gods render that nation to shameful headlines in blood Followed with prayers of contrition in the deadly odour of spent ammunition It's a nation of sheeple borne of the steeple of a not-so-righteous mission It's a messed up mixed up world we live in dependent upon prose and prayer Really it's stranger than fiction waiting two thousand years for an apparent heir Imagine trying to explain that to an enquiring interstellar visitor Hypothetical yes but nonetheless it's a laughable baffling human feature
