Monday Morning

It's Monday morning and I just want to sleep I am calling my boss it feels like a fever to me As he said stay home I woke up from my dream Oh I hate Monday mornings I could just scream It's 7:01 and I'm late to work Rushing out the door with a backwards shirt And a stain on my pants that I hope is dirt Put on some cologne to hide the smell it won't hurt There is my boss looking at his watch Think of an excuse gotta be top notch Listen sir I was late cause of my dog He gave me that look so I thought I was caught Don't let it happen twice is what he said Little did he know I just didn't wanna get out of bed I nod as I laugh in my head I don't have a dog but at least I know I can use that again I see my work buddy and we read each other's mind Didn't have to say it we read in between the lines But we did anyway at the same time Why are we here then we let out a sigh It's Monday morning and I just want to sleep I am calling my boss it feels like a fever to me As he said stay home I woke up from my dream Oh I hate Monday mornings I could just scream Pay day is far away Weekend just ended now I have to wait 5 days till Saturday It's only been 20 minutes man I hate today I pray that my boss lets me off soon He looks at me like what's wrong dude It's almost lunch time so keep your cool That's in 3 hours man it's nine not noon Tick tock time moves slow Too many hours till I go home I start to drive seems like everyone's on the road Like I just need you to move I need to go Please just get me away from here If I stay any longer I will shed some tears Any other day I will be employee of the year But not on Mondays let me make that clear It's Monday morning and I just want to sleep I am calling my boss it feels like a fever to me As he said stay home I woke up from my dream Oh I hate Monday mornings I could just scream
