I strolled down the path to nowhere My feet just moved with no care In every step a piece of air A fragment of feelings laid bare I wandered along without sight Each footfall whispered a rite In the cracks of concrete's bite I felt shards of joy and plight The road offered no clear reason But revealed life's hidden season In each fragment my mind's treason Crafted tunes for unspoken reason A leaf on the roadside's shoulder Whispered tales of growing older Every step made me bolder Yet the path just seemed much colder Around me voices left unspoken Ground was cracked and bars were broken Every inch was a token Of emotions that were woken As I walked a bird did chatter In its song my thoughts did scatter Words they peeled like a sailor's patter In my heart Commotion's clatter
