Recession

I was laid off work the other day Something about how The work here is slowing down So they need to make their cuts OH! And it sucks 'cause I was able to work from home Now I gotta find a temp I put in an application at the nearest Publix Putting myself at risk But I gotta do what I can to stay alive Even if it means Putting myself in the public Just so we can eat But it doesn't even matter 'Cause they called me back And told me they were swamped With other applications Don't know what else to do The unemployment site won't even load So I guess this is recession Fuel for crippling depression Wouldn't be surprised if the suicide Rate is climbing to new heights Hell I've thought about it myself But I keep telling myself That we'll make it through Gotta keep trudging along Yeah this can't last forever Just gotta do my part I mean we've already made it this far So just grab your guitar And scream it out like you did so long ago Way back in high school I haven't touched this thing in years I guess the depression started Way before this all began I haven't sat alone with my thoughts this long Since I started my work life How has it been 8 years already The fucking time is flying by So I guess this is recession Fuel for crippling depression But I've made it this far in life 28 Years of wasted time If I give in to what's burning in my head Give it time instead
