Dead Flowers on the Window Sill

I got dead flowers on my kitchen table on my kitchen table I got things to do but I don't feel able I'm runnin' through each day waitin' for the next one I guess this ain't really supposed to be all that fun I got friends they say, they got dreams they got dreams I got a different friend who says dreams aren't all they're cracked up to be And I, I just wait for some kind of sign Wait for some kind of vision tellin' me my dreams are really mine Nothin' on this earth is meant to last too long last too long I read that in a book that's supposed to tell you what's right and wrong Well I never bothered with that book much until I got to thinking how each day Each day comes along and says hello we look the other way I've dead flowers on my windowsill on my windowsill I hope one day when I'm the box and gone cold and still The wind'll blow them flowers and they'll carry some of me Carry me down to the water where I like to be
