Gates of Shambhala

Awake to a distant land Among a strange and wonderful world I feel a presence come over me, I see a great shadow over me I look to the sky and behold A city of sapphire and gold A city seated on the clouds To then I hear a great sound A sound that breaks my bones A thunder shakes the ground A thousand trumpets sound The gates have opened unto me And a voice of thunder speaks “Come through the gates” Taken up in a chariot of fire Lifted from the ground, taken higher Carried by the hosts to the kingdom Passing through the gates as a pilgrim I see the snake on his throne But I dare not look in his eyes (he calls me by name, speaking without words) But I can’t turn away Completely powerless (but I cannot speak the words) Then he stares into me His eyes of fire consuming Paralyzed by his gaze He speaks to me You are the one Born to bear the message You are the one Who shall speak to the whole world I shall give you the word I shall give you a voice I see the universe inside of me I speak the universe inside of me The universe inside of me
