A Hole in the Light

In her sacred garden she nourishes her seeds And encourages the green shoots to grow Bands of orange light stroke the fragile stems As the setting sun withdraws its light She knows the nighttime brings, darkness and savage things She tries to shine her light, on the left and on the right But there's a hole in the light, where her fragrant flower once bloomed There's a hole in the light, where the petals wilted under a new moon Mistress of dew-drop's prism, intricate leaf of lace She knows all the shadow, and the use of negative space Determined that her beam illuminate double dreams That sail upon three rivers of soul Two streams are glistening sunlight the third is twinkling starlight The sun can shine all day, if the the clouds don't get in the way Coz there's a hole in the light, dark magic in that hole There's a hole in the light, that sucks your heart in where memories go There's a hole in the light, that wasn't always there And the light in that space, is always remembered with love and care
