When It's You

For all the tea in china Or water in cupped hands Nothing else really matters When it's you with whom I stand From a tiny flat in England I can see Manhattan shore I fall asleep beside you And I dream of nothing more As I climb on through the cold mine Or writing stories from my bed Whereas I used to watch the clock's face I think of yours instead In the quiet of the country Away from the city lights We feel so safe and important As we admire the starry night Every poem is about you And the world is bright and grand I feel like I'm a part of it When it's you with whom I stand
