Oh, June!

May has left his things behind And June's arrived With light in tow Among May's things, a seed was found And in the ground The seed, we've sowed In jest, we both insist the seed won't grow We act as though it hasn't got a chance But neither one of us does truly know Yet still, we carry on our song and dance But o'er the seed, June hangs their light In hopes it might Sprout strong someday And I've been tending well the soil I sweat and toil My hopes the same I kick my boots clean by the kitchen door Soon as the work is over for the day We head inside and sit upon the floor And I catch myself before I almost say I believe our seed will sprout And we'll find out What's in the ground O June, a garden, shall we grow And we will show We don't need May around
