Finding Them in All of Us

I lost my Bible a long time ago The Koran didn't last much longer I can't say the Buddha Made me a whole lot stronger I'm not sure they ever wanted To be seen as so Glorious Just something a lot more humble Like finding them, in all of us I must confess I've made mistakes And many days I acted the fool But thank God it taught me the hard way To follow the Golden Rule Five times a day while facing east Didn't help me to understand But praying when I was truly on my knees Sure made me a better man Looking at life through a window Seemed a good way to watch it all go by But in the quiet, letting things slow I found my truth, and the reason why I must confess I've made mistakes And many days I acted the fool But thank God it taught me the hard way To follow the Golden Rule You can sing a song You can pray a prayer You can sing a psalm Or seek a soothsayer Maybe light a candle Or burn some incense Try to get a handle On truth, or nonsense Worry with your worry beads Fear fire and brimstone We all have our own needs Find your's on your own You can find your's on your own I must confess I've made mistakes And many days I acted the fool But thank God it taught me the hard way To follow the Golden Rule I'm not sure they ever wanted To be seen as so Glorious Just something a lot more humble Like finding them in all of us Like finding them in all of us Like finding them in all of us.
