Red Letter

She realized she'd lost him earlier Than she thought she would He realizes choices bear An undisputed truth You don't expect the rain In a shiny morning day So when it's wet and slippery You fall without grace He tore apart her shelter's safety Brick by brick by mud And his own dwelling's falling slowly As all the words are read Red letters have a meaning And this meaning gently brings A fearful note of troubled sorrow Like a reminder of what's done On my way my mind says "hey, are you really sure? Or is the past going to be reversed?" Certainties becomes uncertain illusions of the past And it's the past that breaks them even more And pain is not missing That's for sure, but it's what it takes To choose to live along And not become invertebrate To speak up and decide What other people wouldn't choose So why don't you lose Why don't you?
