Broken Smile

I wear a mask when you're around A painted grin that hides the sound Of every thought I can't let out I keep them in, I drown them out Every time I smile, I feel my mouth Muscles slowly breaking into a frown I'm tired of pretending that you don't bring me down But I keep it up, I wear this crown Even though inside I'm sinking, I'm about to drown The mirrors tired of reflecting lies It knows the truth behind my eyes But I perfected every move So no one sees what I can't prove Every time I smile, I feel my mouth Muscles slowly breaking into a frown I'm tired of pretending that you don't bring me down But I keep it up, I wear this crown Even though inside I'm sinking, I'm about to drown It's a game I play, it's a losing fight But I keep on smiling through the night Until the day you finally see The pain behind my forced gleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee So I'll fake it till I make it Or until I finally break it This smile that's cracking now But I'll hold it somehow Even when my heart's in pieces I pretend that none of this ceases
