It started when I was eight years old I wanted to be a drummer I had natural rhythm, so I was told But we lived upstairs in a quiet flat My mother said no drums and that was that So I grabbed a guitar and I started riffing My first guitar was a cherry red Hagstrom Swede I played with her so much it made my fingers bleed But now I have a couple of Ibanez, a Gibson And a Strat for those nasty bends So that's why they named me Jack the riffer I'm Jack the riffer and I'm here to play for you Try to keep up cause a little boogie woogie is due So if by chance you need to dance to a regular kind of style You know that you can track me down And if you are passing along the way Please stop by and hear me play The notes I'm playing are coming your way I want to riff for you all night Cause riffing is the medicine that makes it right I want to riff for you all night Cause riffing is the medicine that makes it right Riffing riff me out riffing Riff me out Now I've done so many things and traveled near and far I'd get into my old blue van or drive there in my car But one thing remained consistent After all that's said and done It's my family of six string friends that's the true source of My fun Cause I'm Jack the riffer and I'm here to riff for you So try to keep up, cause a little boogie woogie is due So try to keep up, cause a little boogie woogie is due I want to I need to hear those riffs all night long
