Celestial Eyes / Noose Shaped Galaxy

I watched time's sand turn into salt As all seven oceans curdled their ghosts Pained paint peels down and curls away Just like the rain rusting a forgotten looking glass It's iodide delayed like a magnetic slip streamed shadow If we live on in energies unknown Then this present age is no concern of mine This lock-jawed noose-shaped galaxy that we call Home sweet home may just be the sharpest liar we know Now we're all as good as dead, Like a ship without a rudder It's enough to make even the Bravest captain shudder So we slipped away To escape the grief that we uncovered So we dove down deep into those stormy tidal pools As the wise men screamed that we were Naught but bastard fools And we swam beneath that rotting gibbous moon. When we came up for air The heavens looked like neon fingers Stretched above distant lands That seemed to neither move nor linger, And i've sold more time to the blind future Than a shabby roulette ringer Sideways is how I find modern truth It's always half in lust and always half in greed With just more copper tongues lapping disgrace Tell me where I can find a pure heart Silent as the snow and patient as the stars With dreams as only fragments of art. Is there still any mystery in the madness? Breaking like waves on sickened empty shores In need of some footsteps to wash away Come listen to the censure of the stars.
