Wind and the Road

Wind at your heels, snow on the highway Pretty soon we'll be traveling sideways And ain't it the way, the only way we go now And the wind and the road are shoveling us downtown We would be home, hemming and heaving And untainted by the worries of leaving If it weren't for the call of the great unknown But so we go and we're hoping the wind knows the road Maybe it's my hopeless devotion Or maybe it's my head's in the ocean That keeps things this way Or maybe we just can't know Cause a few months from now, everything changes On account of our whims, and the forces of nature And then I'll be the farthest I've ever been Wondering when I'll feel like I'm home again I know that it's all, "Choose your own adventure" Even if this isn't the storm of the century oh but I Wish it was all that clear But I'd never go if I could see it all from here Wind at your back, snow on the highway You know how it feels, traveling sideways And I bet we've been doing it all this time But we only know when we Weather the wind and the road Only grow when we Weather the wind and the road Only home when we Weather the wind and the road
