Still Water

Oh my God I look for answers in the parking lots I seek forgiveness in the strip mall shops Where I trade my hard earned pay For wasted time Oh my lord I slip and stumble 'cause I'm so unsure I take communion til I hit the floor For it seems the troubled road Is always mine But in between The ragged edges of my sleepless dreams And in the echoes of my noiseless screams I've felt you ripple my still water And cold and clear I tread the wellspring of my deepest fear Could it be I'm just a bag of skin and bone Nothing waiting there for me?
