KILLING THE WORDS

Killin' the words Because of my dyslexia, I feel like a failure Cause words have let me down, they're trying to steal my crown So I'm just exiling the words, big words I don't know That should help me to grow, making my poem flow But I'm just creatively killin' these words Killin' the words Yeah, I'm killin' the words Like a deadly assassin with precise and painful verbs Killin' the words Cause they hold me down low But I gotta find a way to make my own words grow I don't know how to write a sentence properly, you see So I speak, text it to spell words that are hard for me But sometimes it gets it wrong, misspells what I've (wrote) quote So I'm just ending these words, cutting off their throat Words should be made simple, they shouldn't hold me back Or give me a heart attack, keep me off the right track So complicated words I use should be effortless and true But I'm just effectively and successfully killin' you Oh Killin' the words Yeah, I'm killin' the words Like a deadly assassin with precise and painful verbs Killin' the words Cause they hold me down low But I gotta find a way to make my own words grow Words can be spiteful, hateful, and mean, that's the truth But those words shouldn't define me from my early youth These offensive words, the hurtful things they do These are words I'd love to hunt down while they sleep And shoot them with a gun, just for a little fun But my own words will kill them, till the battle's won Killin' the words Yeah, I'm killin' the words Like a deadly assassin with precise and painful verbs Killin' the words Cause they hold me down low But I gotta find a way to make my own words grow But maybe instead of killin, I should try to understand Learn from the mistakes, lend a helping hand Educate myself like the words have shown to me Don't fear them anymore, I want my spirit free Say what you wanna say, do what you wanna do Don't kill the words like I had a lesson learned anew Use your words effectively, let your true voice ring Don't kill the dream of poetry, let your heart take wing
