Middle Child

Balancing things in this world is different I got all eyes in the front and the back They on me it's hard to be Christian Feeling the urge to choose to be set apart should I follow the ignorance Or should I follow the mission I'm at this bridge in my life where I gotta let go of habits to build on the new ones So I do not ruin the vision Or furthermore cause some division Between the people that came in before me and people behind me just listen I find myself in the middle Cause I came to Christ at a early age I wish my people would do the same Cause I used to be in they place Doing the simplest of things with dreams of leaving em I went to find me a space Cause I used to be in they face Now I feel I'm leading em Tryna influence the gates of heaven without the extremes of tryna agree with em (Let me live) I lived too back when I was high and tried to find the freedom in it Now I live too Christ died for me now so I found the freedom in it I still struggle finding time to read a minute Like are we different on the same page Lord keep me from the lust it's tryna get my feet up in it In the middle can pick a side Choose a lane and I'ma stay in mine I'ma stay in mine I'ma stay in mine I'ma stay in mine I'ma stay in mine I see the ones that's around me Try not to let them surround me Remember I did and cursed I ain't like how it sounded But on the other side I get so caught up trying do the right thing what is that Cause often I take on the idea that I got all the facts I apologize for it All the times I gave a side eye All the times I passed judgment on you All the times you tried to be yourself And all the times I didn't love you for it All the times I missed to tell you about Him And lead you to the cross Maybe He'll lead me to mine so I can reflect on how to be mindful of it To keep my mind full of it You on my mind beloved Peace on your mind beloved Peace on my mind I love it (Yea) Peace on my mind I love it I'ma stay in mine I'ma stay in mine I'ma stay in mine I'ma stay in mine
