Maybes

The sun's coming up And the fog's clearing out I'm hitting the road And I'm free of any doubts No idea where I'm going But it's too late to turn around I've got nowhere to go but up I've been as deep as you can go down Maybe I'll find what I've been looking for Maybe I'll keep searching a little more Maybe I'll feel better once I finally get away But those maybes are still maybes At least for today Stopped for gas in a little town a lot like mine Or at least it used to be I was waiting for some cliche nostalgia But it never hit me I guess memories that fade with time Well they really disappear But they can sneak right back Usually hand in hand with fear Maybe I'll find what I've been looking for Maybe I'll keep searching a little more Maybe I'll feel better once I finally get away But those maybes are still maybes At least for today Oh no
