The Villain

Ever since I was young I always thought That my life would play out like a movie plot They always told me too much tv Would cause my brain to rot But I'd be the good guy and do what's right And in a dark storyline I'd be a light Behind the scenes maybe I'm the one The good guy should fight Cause sometimes I feel like a villain My demise comes from my decisions To act different than I envisioned But the scripts of life are unwritten I can be the hero when tomorrow comes I can be better than the things I've done I can still play the part I want to play I can be better than yesterday Villains suppress the poor and take from the innocent Their greedy hearts want more so they never relent I wish I could change when I was that way But those days have came and went A hero might mess up and fall once or twice But they want the best for all whatever the sacrifice There've been times I heard the call But didn't want to pay the price Cause sometimes I feel like a villain My demise comes from my decisions To act different than I envisioned But the scripts of life are unwritten I can be the hero when tomorrow comes I can be better than the things I've done I can still play the part I want to play I can be better than yesterday But sometimes I feel like a villain I can still play the part I want to play So the sun set and the next day came And I tried so hard but it turned out the same Low on hope at the end of my rope I hang my head in shame Will you be my hero and save me from myself I've got nowhere left to go but God I need your help
