Drenched in Rage

A nation now in chaos with political unrest A house decided cannot make a stand Innocents are murdered for the color of their skin Justice what the people now demand Patience wearing thin as the fires start to rage True color of our nation starts to show No way to escape it because we can't run away In the end there's nowhere left to go Eyes filled with violence and souls filled with pain This chaos infecting our minds Forgiveness is weakness, it must be erased Forsake it and leave it behind Drenched in rage Liberty's a lie when so many here have died A country built upon the backs of slaves Stolen from the natives who were forced to walk away As cities piled up upon the graves Soldiers coming home with broken minds and broken souls To end up cold and sleeping in the streets Children caught and caged, it is making me enraged And we call this the land of the free? Abused and confused while our pleas are refused Still screaming the question of why Our liberty's taken and beaten and bruised Forsaken and left here to die Drenched in rage
