Michigan State Massacre

It was late Monday night, February 13 At Michigan State University It was there in the west wing of Berkey Hall A tragedy struck us and shattered us all The students were sitting at peace in their class It all went so quick, it all happened so fast 'Twas a man in a hood with a grudge and a gun And he opened fire on everyone He shot 2 of the students in the chest, in the head They fell to the floor and were instantly dead The people around them, they screamed and they cried Some laid their bodies down for those who had died He fled to the Union unfazed and unbound He fired again with a terrible sound Another poor kid took the heat and went down There were dreams and blood splattered all on the ground Us students, we hid and we blocked up the doors Hearing gunshots ring out, 'bout a dozen or more Us students were praying and down on our knees The news said that there were 3 casualties The news said that there were 3 casualties The parents, they all called their kids from their homes And some of them never did pick up the phone The parents broke down and they burst into tears Can you conceive a more terrible fear? A hundred police, valiant women and men And 3 special units were quickly sent in The police, they did everything in their power While the cold, chilling seconds, they turned into hours The man shot himself on Lake Lansing and Larch And he sure didn't get any funeral march They say it was ugly, his head was blown off Some say the punishment wasn't enough What makes somebody so full of hate? What happens when somebody doesn't think straight? What makes somebody so angry and mean And drives them to do such a terrible thing? What makes somebody so broken and cold? And what makes a gun so easy to hold? What makes somebody just not give a damn And not see the light right in front of them? And now I just can't help but wondering why Our God would allow these young children to die And until we can find a way to understand Tell your loved ones you love them as long as you can Tell your loved ones you love them as long as you can
