Shadows

In the shadows of my mind There's a story we can find Through the woods, a battle undefined Everything I did haunts me day and night There's no sound to hide behind Body's aching all the time Thunder going up my spine Most days I'd rather die Thought I'd be over it by now Asking questions but I don't know how These memories still haunt my dreams I just want a good night of sleep Fill me up with booze and weed Only way I'll stop crying Cross my I's and dot my T's Still don't trust what I'm saying I remember so vividly The little things you said to me Holding on to what I can't carry My minds so weak it's sickening Thought I'd be over it by now Asking questions but I don't know how In the depths of the night Don't think I'd trust my sight Overthinking everything I'm just denying Every little part of me That wants to keep on trying Oh dear god I miss my friends They won't see me ascend Any moment could be the end Everyday I play along Wear my mask im just a fraud No sense waking up today I've got nothing to gain My hands are trembling I wish I didn't know a thing I remember your face The day you almost went away I don't think I'm in the wrong All I did was write my song All the words are true today Not like anyone was listening
