I've been tryna to build my own kingdom Under the guise that I know Jesus Sharing Christ but wasn't walking in my own freedom I had goals and had to achieve em But walkin' my own strength had me thinking that I don't need Him Thought I'd find rest in success Like when I reach my goals then I'll be blessed Man I put so much pressure on myself I forgot about my health But deep inside my soul needed some help but didn't seek it But my ambition blinded me from my anxiety Drunk off my idolatry desperate for some sobriety Was placing my identity in the things I'm building Instead of the fact that I'm one of the King's children I thought artificial medicine could bring me healing While hoping building something great was gonna be fulfilling But in reality it was draining me And used my ministry to cover up all the pain in me Oh 'Round and around and around and around we go Around we go around around we go Oh 'Round and around and around and around we go Don't you gain the world and then lose your soul Oh 'Round and around and around and around we go Around we go around around we go Oh 'Round and around and around and around we go Don't you gain the world and then lose your soul I gained weight and my heart was restless I was placing all my hope in my success list What I thought was obedience became obsession Wasn't seeking God's presence just my progression But God doesn't need my platform to build His Kingdom He doesn't need me for folks to hear bout Jesus But still He chooses to use us for His purposes But His glory ain't dependent upon our work for Him Never place your identity in activity Cuz you'll think your worth is found is your productivity But if your identity is in a God who is complete You don't have to work because you're trustin' in a finished thing Spent the last 3 years tryna build Now I'm taking the next season just to heal Never sacrifice your health on the altar of success Outside of God ain't nothin gon give you rest yeah, give you rest I wanted to be king, I wanted control I was tryna gain the world but almost lost my soul I was rushing God cuz He was moving too slow But He's the only sovereign king on the throne (yeah) Oh 'Round and around and around and around we go Around we go around around we go Oh 'Round and around and around and around we go Don't you gain the world and then lose your soul Oh 'Round and around and around and around we go Around we go around around we go Oh 'Round and around and around and around we go Don't you gain the world and then lose your soul Oh 'Round and around and around and around we go Around we go around around we go Oh 'Round and around and around and around we go Don't you gain the world and then lose your soul Oh 'Round and around and around and around we go Around we go around around we go Oh 'Round and around and around and around we go Don't you gain the world and then lose your soul
