Don't Take for Granted

What if your friend couldn’t tackle The demons he faced everyday would you give him a call? What if he’s doubting his purpose Reasons he is on the earth would you go tell him all? What if you knew him, due to persistence But he cannot get through the trauma he faced? So you let him go, get him replaced? Or do anything to show he’s not a waste? You say you love him but you fail to show it Put others above him so he doesn’t know it You see this person alone all the time It’s just him and his demons and he can’t control it Self medicates, to cope with the pain Craving the high when he is at his lowest A night in September, he can’t remember Wakes up in a hospital he overdosed How do you feel your friend could’ve killed Himself because he couldn’t live anymore? Now you support him and give him the love He should receive instead of begging for All that i’m saying is you never know what you have Til it’s buried 6 feet in the ground Don’t take for granted, the people you love You never know when they won’t be around What if your son overdosed and was hours from dying Would you go to be by his side? How would you feel, if you got the call, saying he tried to commit suicide? You wouldn’t rage, or send him a text, saying that I wouldn’t come to his aid Due to the fact that his mother was there, so you found another excuse in the air What if your son’s in a psych hospital, he can’t overcome all the obstacles shown? You’d be supportive inspiring him and encouraging him that he isn’t alone Instead you question maturity levels but you failed to bother to question your own How could you say all those things to your son? How is it even okay to condone? How do you feel your son could’ve killed Himself because he couldn’t live anymore? Still won’t support him and give him the love He should receive ever since he was born All that i’m saying is you never know what you have Til it’s buried 6 feet in the ground Don’t take for granted, the people you love You never know when they won’t be around What if I told you that person was me? I was so blinded and I couldn’t see All of the love that I really receive, because a few people had traumatized me I cannot take it for granted I must take advantage of such an opportunity Now that i’m better, wake up everyday Thank god for another let’s go and succeed! How do you feel about beating depression? How do you feel as you’re learning your lesson? How do you feel when your life is a blessing And every second for you is so precious?
