A Christmas Thought

One light on the strand is out But there's nothing like the ghostly glow That warms my heart at night Cheerful streets; The stranger souls United are so bright Watching movies, making cocoa Makes me feel alright But I long for that wonder from years ago I've been looking left and right We can't always be kids But I still give presents And a party's always nice I lie under the tree at night Something's changed the lights came on After the folks had gone A candle flickeres in my heart As the first few snowflakes fall
