i didnt know it was gonna feel like this

I've been Growing up Everyday overrun by time I can't find 22 years I've spent Doing whatever I wanted It catches up I'm out of luck I wish that I could go back to the places to me and my friends Spent all the summer nights drinking in camera lens I wanna run from the cops at like 3am I didn't know growing up was gonna feel this It's hard sometimes To be alive It's not like that I love my friends and my life It's just sometimes I find the years going by Without reward I'm getting too old To be reliving the past I know That time's gonna happen Whether we live it or not So get what you want In the time that you're given We're growing up That doesn't mean that we're living Oh I've had enough Of secrets and losing our interest And if it's not what you thought You have the power to change who you are But don't grow up too fast Cuz it never comes back I've been growing up Everyday a part of me is gone I'm holding on to The version that loved this world so much But it's a start To live this life Chasing what you want And if you love To love so hard You never give it up In the time that you're given We're growing up But that doesn't mean that we're living Oh I've had enough Of planning out lives to minute And if it's not what you thought You have the power to get what you want But don't grow up too fast Because it never comes back
