As I get older I get a little more cynical Get a little less polite And a little more political My life gets more conflicted And the little things less meaningful Leaving me more unbelieving In the magic of the love we hold Maybe I lost my sight Maybe I stopped dancing Did I stop believing Did I stop taking chances Did I lose my childlike eyes So pure and so clear Maybe it's because all the things that I hold so close They always seem to disappear They disappear I try to hang on to the magic But the decorations still come down And it seems like I lose more innocence With every candle I blow out And the stars don't shine as bright Where I am compared to where I was And I don't know if it's my fault But it just might be because Maybe I lost my sight Maybe I stopped dancing Did I stop believing Did I stop taking chances Did I lose my childlike eyes So pure and so clear Maybe it's because all the things that I hold so close They always seem to disappear They disappear And I've been reminiscing About the times when I'd get so excited to see The snow on the ground And we'd play outside till the sun went down And maybe I'm losing the spark that I felt in those moments Am I the one who chose this But all those moments disappear One blink and they're gone Because not all things last forever And maybe that's not wrong That's not wrong So I'll take a moment Take some time if that's alright To relive all the little moments That made me smile and I'll stay there a while I'll stay there a while I'll stay there a while
