Rain All Day

The alarm goes off, in a rush you're up In such a hurry to face another sunny day As clouds roll in, you hear reports of rain but you keep on moving After all, there's nothing you can do about that now Creeping up slowly sometimes, catching you off guard Like the sound of footsteps taken with caution to the door of an empty house When you wish someone was home It's often hard to bear, looking over your shoulder but there's nobody there Just a whisper in the passing breeze You pretend there's something there to see You chase away these thoughts with an unwelcome grunt A stranger makes a face Thinking you were talking to him but the stranger keeps walking on He's whispering a song With your eyes closed, your head resting on your steering wheel You wonder what it is you do this for Because all that you've seen can feel like bodies lying in the street And you're waiting to hear for someone to breathe All you want is to find someone in this world with something brighter than that to share
