Every time I’d close my eyes I’d see you, so I’d blink a lot Every time I’d act surprised you’d waver, and I’d lose the plot At times I still feel that spark Electric as an amusement park Things are grayer than they used to be But they still fit comfortably Count your blessings and count up all of mine for me And maybe it’s been a minute But baby we’re right back in it A needle in a haystack of needles Attractive as magnetic fields Cashing out emotional yields like it’s some kind of game We’re just a picture of children In an adult frame At times it all moves so fast We look up, days and weeks have passed But sometimes the world slows down And you and I are the only ones around You were my lottery ticket My one way out of this sticky wicket But anything that comes for free Is worth that much eventually Clean the Adirondacks we’re expecting company And maybe it’s been a minute But baby we’re right back in it Hammers on the lookout for nails Knowingly chasing our tails Picking up the crumbs from our trails all the same We’re just a picture of children In an adult frame
