Character Development

I've come to know you and how you feel I know my life is on my hands But my heart's not made of steel I need to grow from my insecurities I'm chasing dreams but I don't know reality It's a diluted fantasy Until the walls come tumbling down Placing my feet back on the ground I dug myself into a hole That I can't leave until I grow oh oh And I tell myself The clocks will stop The tides will change I'll be back on top I'll leave my old life so decadent I'll learn from it It's character development And I know I need to grow But life, life feels so slow I'm in a state of limbo From my highest high to my lowest low I wish I could turn back time But that's not mature to say I don't wanna go too far just back to yesterday And those childish beliefs That I took pride in They fade away after I'm unblinded And I tell myself The clocks will stop The tides will change I'll be back on top I'll leave my old life so decadent I'll learn from it It's character development I'll learn I'll learn from it I'll learn from it I'll learn I'll learn And the clocks never stopped The walls are finally down I've learned I'm on the ground
