Can't Smoke Weed

I used to smoke weed by the pound I loved all my friends comin' round We'd all get high And laugh 'til we cried Every room was consumed by the cloud We solved all the mysteries of space The conundrums of time we embraced When it came time to munch We preferred Captain Crunch And the world was a wonderful place But I can't smoke weed anymore My lungs are fried My brain cells all died I can't even finish my chores I cough too much And life is such I just can't smoke weed anymore I did find a good work around Now the kitchen is my chosen ground I make the best brownies In three or four counties I just wish I could keep some around It sucks getting old in this way I can't even remember my name So far from my youth So long in the tooth And for all my old friends it's the same We just can't smoke weed anymore Our lungs are fried Our brain cells all died We can't even find the front door We cough too much And life is such We just can't smoke weed anymore The aforementioned reasons aside There are others that I may provide My boss calls me lazy My wife says I'm crazy Surely they both can't be right The Dude in his way would expound It's gutters and strikes, ups and downs On this crazy ride We all should abide 'Cause it's better to smile then to frown So I think that I'll burn just one more That mirror I feel Shows a little too real Looking back like an old dinosaur But lately I've craved That plant so depraved If I could only remember which drawer
