I'm a youngin & I'm headed to a new school Walking thru the door where no one knows who I am, but damn, there you were with a smile on ya face You put your arm me to making sure Im not outta place & that's how I knew, I had a friend in you I said "I live on Forest" you said "Me too!" I said "My name is Kevin New, your name I wanna know" & that's when ya told me " it's Casey Aaron Crow" I don't know, what it was about him, everybody loved But when we walking through the hallways, all the girls give him hugs He was the one who, picking any girl he wanted to run through Hangin' out with one of them, he said he wanted the gun too So he stole it from her dads house He's the man now, you can't say a peep, I'm quiet as a mouse You my boy bro, that gun's not a toy though But little did I know, that gun would destroy Crow Baby blue Thunderbird, we were taking a ride To a camp far away so we could play outside While his mom & her sis could catch up time Tippin back some drink, so they could feel alright We been there all day, hoopin, arcade & playin' by the lake I even messed up & sprained my ankle by mistake _ It was a day, that I'll never forget His mom was so fuckin' drunk, what she said is burned into my head She was pissed he wouldn't get in the car He said "with you being tipsy, mom, we are going too far" So he turned the music up & didn't wanna hear her scream So she yelled "Casey, you don't mean anything to me" I can't believe that she said it, he said "you're gonna regret it When you wake up in the morning you're gonna find your son dead" So I said, "you're my boy bro, that gun's not a toy though" But still I didn't know, that gun would destroy Crow Up half the night, I couldn't sleep The first thing I did when I woke was look down the street Then I rubbed my eyes, to make sure I wasn't dreamin Seen the paramedic in your driveway, I started screamin Right then I knew, you were gone too soon Why couldn't I have been there, to try and stop you The newspaper read, that this was Russian Roulette I know that's bullshit, cuz you said you'd be dead I was 14 when this happened, now I'm almost 40 & I'm, sick of feeling like this, ready to tell my story & I wonder why you didn't stay when he needed you DJ, why did you leave when he's shot & he's bleeding too You went home to clean your room 25 years later, you died and took those secrets with you It's not a game, the guns not a toy though I'm so fuckin' pissed you let it destroy Crow
