Intermission

I'm afraid for the day all of this comes to an end I fear when the bills get too much and I'm selling off guitar parts to make ends meet The inevitable nightmare of submission Where I burn my dresses and revert to a dead name Failure may always be an option at least that's what I was taught But what if you're only allowed one in a lifetime? Waving the white flag, throwing in the towel Shrugging your shoulders stating it is what it is Accepting the bullshit that comes with life not being fair The constant truth that some people carry loaded dice Recognizing that us as a human species are only meant to procreate and pass on Acknowledging that our intelligence and knowledge is merely A lucky coincidence among the vast expansion of this universe How fortunate are we to experience self-awareness When I say I am scared of my final days I mean where is the timeline to where mine and my family's name is forgotten from the world? How long until each notebook of thoughts gets tossed away in the garbage? When will my friends and family all share the same plots of earth? Will the day I finally know our true purpose in the world be the same one that I die on? Guess I'll have to wait to find out
