Summer '22

It's been a crazy year, forget a crazy summer And we're only over halfway Certain situations mentally and physically I had to part ways Building deeper bonds that helped me make it through the dark days Blue skies and sunshine and good vibes All of them aligning to alleviate the heartbreak Sink into my seat and watch the scenery Train riding, eyes upon the greenery Life has still been moving at a fast pace But bun that, I'm slowing down on my terms No rat race, don't run that F*ck that, and f*ck you if you think I shouldn't shun that Working on myself because I want that Nah there ain't no trophy or no prize Just the journey on my terms, yeah I won that Percieving certain people on a pedestal I let them loose and energies I knew I had to cut back And they don't even know it No need to even tell 'em when it's showing See how they manoeuvre out my life as I keep growing And it's telling They say that life's chaotic but In certain ways it really is poetic Storylines that line up in a way that makes me feel like I was putting in no effort Guess that insta wisdom wasn't lost on me Fixing up my routine, time out for my child and them The one who's deep inside, who comes alive When tryna sleep and keeps on begging for that blue screen Looking after him yeah that's my duty Gleaning something from my labour Be creative, yeah that's truly where the fruits be Feed the spirit, higher living when consuming Music, art and superhero movies Yeah, taking longer walks with me and I, to the park, to the city To the shop, when it's hot, when it's chilly When I'm stressed, when I'm not, regardless, how I'm feeling Just spitting, to myself Play Ye, play Nas, play Pac, play Biggie Play Jay, play Em, play Cole, King Kenny Inspired as I shoot through All these videos on YouTube And it's midnight feeling fruitful Then it's 5am I choose to Just self indulge I feel my inner child is acting out So I reel him back and help him home Feeding him my favourite scenes Spider Man to Michael Jack Spark that magic, all that talent, all that make believe That wonderment, that made me me Set the time machine, I'm finding that F*ck all this growing up, reclining back And acting like your life is over Cuz you're turning thirty Nah the older I've been getting The more that light's been glowing And the more that I've been feeling certi This summer yeah's been something else Volume three or four, I've lost track, ask the Lord they got that Either way I felt this coming, Hell From the moment that I stepped in 2022 came with the blues a year anew With Covid testing Then my spaceship getting wrecked and To my girlfriend maybe getting pregnant To my girlfriend becoming my fucking ex and Then me sleeping on this couch at 4am instead of being home All curled up in my fucking bedroom It's calm, don't watch that It's all part and parcel bruv I learnt my lessons Manoeuvred certain situations Steering clear of certain bredrin Had to go there on the way to get where I'm getting Seeing every up and down like they're the weirdest blessing But a blessing still, think this has been my clearest session So what it do?
