The Beginnings

I started playing the piano when I was about 5 or 6 years old Largely in part due to my mom and dad at the time The beginnings because Piano's weren't cheap And they were hustler's so And there was a few monumental times when I couldn't go outside to play because I hadn't practiced yet One Day a few of my friends came over and was asking if I could Come out to play and my dad said no he cant come out he aint Practiced yet You Gotta Practice I was so mad I went to the piano I said finally went over to the piano And started banging on it with my fists I thought I was gonna get my ass whooped As me and my brother usually did on a daily basis Or slapped up side the head at that age We didn't really get whooped yet Um Anyway Well three hours later I got off the piano and asked my dad if I can go Out to play now before it got to dark And the niggah said Yeah you couldve went out two hours an fifty five minutes ago I just wanted you to play something That's all I was like this mutha F But after that The reason I play piano is largely due to my mom She facilitated and helped me cultivate it And that's what I wanted to do I studied classical music first Um But first I played by ear and they would come to the school and hear All the songs that I leaned and they could not believe it because they Never knew I even played piano So it was like I guess four five years my mom would always ask what I wanted For my birthday what I wanted for Christmas What I wanted for this What I wanted for that And she said I would always say a piano Aah So eventually she bought one
