Soldiers Prayer

God grant me the serenity to except the things I cannot change And the courage to change the things that I can And the Wisdom to know the difference Amen Oh LORD Oh Lord can you help me Keep me safe from my enemies Cause I've been through the wars seen a lot of things Memory scars from a beautiful pain Oh Lord can you guide me From all the danger that's surrounding me Because this ain't the way I want my life to end It's been a few times I lost a couple friends oh Lord I say oh Lord I need y'all to ride with me follow me yeah Now the day has come now the time is near For me to leave my family for this here career Look my wife in the face its full of hurt and fear And the next time that she sees my face will be this time next year She yell don't go baby don't go why can't you stay right here As a grabbing my bags her face is filled with tears I'm praying more for her because this thing is real And all my battle buddies know exactly how I feel One mission here one mission there man I'm so battle minded I don't even know the month and day or what the time is Do the government really cares that peoples out there dying Over things that we can't control the reasons why we fighting Is it anybody fed up with this as much as I am I just wanna go home and put this thing so far behind me Because it can't rain all the time I hope the clouds will soon clear and the sun come out and shine oh Lord Maybe it's the man in me that makes me do what I gotta do to feed my family The weight of the world on my shoulders I stand tall thru it all like a soldier I hope that when it's all said and done And when the year pass and the battle is won I pray we all make it home But I know we all ain't gon make it man Yeah Man I wish life is better wish I took a different approach to get the cheddar Because I chose this life man it didn't choose me Besides I rather be doing this then on the streets because My life is really heading in the wrong direction Suicidal thoughts a huge case of depression In a world full of errors there's no room for progression And this a psychological war your brains the weapon so Use it wisely don't let no one control your fate And you know what they say a minds a terrible thing to waste And life's a marathon so you can run it at your pace And keep ya guards up so you can make it home safe In this world that we live in anybody could die So I focus on the things that will keep me alive And I get down on my knees and I lift my head high And I thank the lord for letting this soldier right here survive oh lord Oh Lord can you help me Keep me safe from my enemies Cause I've been through the wars seen a lot of things Memory scars from a beautiful pain Oh Lord can you guide me From all the danger that's surrounding me Because this ain't the way I want my life to end It's been a few times I lost a couple friends oh Lord I say oh Lord
