Just when the moonlight touched my open window, And shadows danced in the room's soft glow, Just when the curtains began to sway In the winter-cold breeze At the end of the day. It hit me then, You were no longer there. Gone without a trace, like vanishing air. You didn't say you'd leave By morning light, You let me sleep Through the quiet night, Peacefully, And all alone. Just when the bed turned cold as stone. I reached for your hand, But you were gone. That's when the shadows reached for me, Slipping through cracks where light used to be, They filled the spaces of my broken heart, Now I'm left with a love torn apart.
