Truly Free

A system built to destroy lives, I was blinded now I see And I can't just let it be A system designed to hide the truth, they don't expect us to see the lie And I won't just let it be Cause in a world where over and over again, we destroy and take lives out of hands How can we ever truly be free We talk about how far we've come, when it's all just really stayed the same All that's gotten better is how they hide it We talk about how far we've come, but they start em off in school now, haven't you heard And that's what I have zero tolerance for In and out, and over again, yet no lend of a helping hand How can we ever truly be free Dressed the same down rows and rows, numbers not names I suppose And yet there's still no change Dressed the same down rows and rows, some will still pick rows and rows For those that are privately owned Dressed and numbered, rows and rows, not treated as people like I know Doesn't this all sound a little too familiar A system designed to take and destroy lives, I was blind but now I see And I won't just let it be A system designed so when you get out, you don't even get any help And that's what's really bothering me Cause in a world where over and over again, the choice is to hurt over lend a helping hand How can we ever truly be free
