Butterflies Have Feelings Too

Monarchs in my windowsill Whisper little nothings They leave me in the morning cause They all see it coming I just wanna hide away Find myself in a better place Counting stars in the dark Through my window Facing cars Breaking hearts On the downlow I just wanna sleep at night Look at my phone but the screen is too bright Can't really focus with all this music inside my head Won't even get up to water my plants before they're dead And I'm crumbling down from the inside out Finding new ways to make you more proud Cause honey you don't see what I see These butterflies are frightening me Please don't make me bear my Teeth I just wanna fly away Only come out in the light of day Going far Past the bars on my front door Hitting tar Forming scars Are we keeping score I just wanna shine so bright Keep them blinded only out of spite Regret the time I spent blinded by simply saving face Forget the problems that occupy all my mental space Cause I'm growing now from the inside out With my feet on the ground And my head in the clouds Cause honey you don't see what I see These butterflies are crowning me queen Please don't make them bear their Teeth
