For Now

It was the beginning of freshman year When I first saw you Brown eyes and curly hair I knew that I was through And maybe if I loved myself I'd just go look for someone else And finally simply be happy Turn on my heels Slam shut the door Whatever they say Won't matter no more They want me gone Well then I'll leave Now that I'm not down at their feet I'm me But that's in the future And I'm still here I hope that someday They won't be my greatest fear But for now I'll listen Break myself in like a new doc marten I'll be sweet I'll be soft For now
