Grocery Store

I was minding my own business getting some things at the grocery store He was further down the aisle and a jar crashed down to the floor It smashed into a million pieces and he swore about his mistake He noticed me and froze and said how easily these things break I smiled and said that I just thought that you really disliked that brand He laughed and started to look for a staff member to lend a hand I was shocked by how intrigued I was to know more about him And so when he returned I winked and gave him a saucy grin I continued to pretend to shop more in the aisle After the mess was cleaned up he turned to me and smiled If you're not busy tonight well maybe can we get a drink We arranged a time and place before I could let myself think What on earth was I thinking about going to meet a strange man And who would have ever thought that this was how our story began I've had to tell this story so many times over the years There's been so much happiness and yes, occasionally some tears So when you head out to the store you just might be surprised That the way you go through life might have to be revised Sometimes you just have to take a chance to find happiness Instead of always saying no, maybe try saying yes
