I Forgive You

I thought about trying to talk to you but I didn't see the point I figured it would all amount to nothing and your nose would be out of joint So I never said a word but it kept building up inside And that wasn't helping anything it just served to further divide So I decided to hell with it and I told you how I feel And the entire experience felt a little surreal I was so surprised that things didn't go the way I may have thought You actually acknowledged all the havoc that your choices brought I forgive you for all the hurt you've caused The anger building up in me doesn't help to deal with the loss It doesn't mean that I forget all the lessons that I learned And trusting anyone these days is something that is earned I forgive you and I set myself free
