I Want You

I saw you coming into the café I was surprised because today was Tuesday The hostess winked at me and led you to my section I gathered my wits and a coffee urn and headed for your table I smiled and asked "Would you like a cup?" He smiled back and nodded and I handed him a menu He decided to order the special and a piece of pie for dessert I turned and walked towards the kitchen and the hostess joined me there I want you to notice me I want to act more bravely I'm just too afraid to say it out loud That I really want to get to know you Please put me out of my misery I want to you to notice me The hostess says "Will you please just give him your number?" She puts her hands on her hips and stares at me intently "But what if he doesn't feel the same way about me?" "Well how will you ever know if you don't even try?" He asks for the bill and so I print it out I write my number and a note: Maybe call me sometime I place it on his table and I head back to the kitchen Before I completely lose my nerve and I wonder what have I done? I hope you will contact me I've tried to act more bravely I'm just so afraid to hope for the best But I really want to get to know you Oh, put me out of my misery I want to you to please call me
