Night Creatures

Come on over for a while But don't let them see you slip inside God forbid, they might see Or learn the truth About you and me Oh you and me And on the fifth day I can take no more I won't be your creature of the night Because secrets are no fun If they can't be told So go Even if it means you're no longer mine But were you ever really mine How foolish was I then In thinking that we'd reached the end Skin was smooter, our hair a different shade Sometimes I still long for those days And I'm as old now, as you were then And do your thoughts ever turn my way And though I'm sure you, roam with creatures anew It was nice, for a while, to play pretend with you How I long to play again
