Jesus Gets It

Woke up this morning But everything felt wrong Tried to eat my breakfast But then life dropped a bomb I wish it were a bad dream But it's really happening These tears can't even begin To show the pain inside of me Where is the comfort A way to find relief All this time they told me That I should just believe I followed all the rules And prayed all the prayers And I forgot that life's not always fair Jesus gets it He lived a life that shows that He just wants me to know that He always understands What I've been through And no matter what I do His mercies are brand new And he's there to hold my hand When I don't know How to start to fix it Jesus gets it He woke up that morning Knew His life would change But still in obedience Went to the garden to pray As a man, he felt terror For what He was asked to do But, trusting, Jesus chose To follow through Jesus gets it He lived a life that shows that He just wants me to know that He always understands What I've been through And no matter what I do His mercies are brand new And he's there to hold my hand When I don't know How to start to fix it Jesus gets it I'm so tired of struggling With this smile that doesn't work Can I get the help I need if I can't say I'm hurt Something that's inside me Sounds like His still small voice Sometimes it's hard to hear Above the noise Jesus gets it He lived a life that shows that He just wants me to know that He always understands What I've been through And no matter what I do His mercies are brand new And he's there to hold my hand When I don't know How to start to fix it I don't know How to start to fix it Jesus gets it
