I lost my dog back in the summer A reality check that none of us are getting any younger Fell on hard times last semester Almost convinced myself If I were gone Everyone would be off better Had a panic attack when I realised That some people that I loved They just never loved me back So I kept feeding an illusion that I'll never be good enough And maybe I'll just always feel flat But the truth is I wanna get Better B-B-B-B-B-B Better I wanna feel better 'Cause I deserve better B-B-B-B-B-B Better I wanna feel better 'Cause I deserve better I think back to when I was younger An epitome of innocence And too small to know any better Would she be proud of me? If she ever met her And is it silly That sometimes I grieve her?
