House of Cards

When I was young, I built a house And I thought, the structure was sound But just as I, I turned around Something invisible knocked it to the ground Sometimes life's gonna move too fast You don't have time to be looking back The storms of life, they come up fast Maybe this time my house will last Oh, Oh, Oh, Oh Now I'm grown and I'm still building But this time, it's a little different 'Cuz now I know, what's gonna pass And people break, like they're made of glass I have never, found the person People say, is gonna give me purpose So, I'll wander, this crazy earth Til God decides I return to dirt And the wind keeps on blowin' And I pray, my structure's holdin' But it always falls, and it falls down hard And so, I build another house of cards I build myself another house of cards Now I'm grey, with no children So, I'm gonna try, to pass down some wisdom I hope you know, you can share the load Please don't go, through this life alone I had my run, was it a good one One thing's for sure, nothing's certain I walked down a lonely boulevard I may broken and a little scarred But I think it's time, I leave my house of cards I think it's time, I leave my house of cards
