Melancholy Poem

The forest trees sway for you While you're away They're still as you come They wait anxiously all day The moon shines brighter To fill your void And the sun misses you He's oh so paranoid The birds bugs and wildlife Await your return The little garden weed has now Turned into a fern You've been away for long before I've missed the warmth of your touch Before you walked out of the door And the world hurt so much You came back within a week When the rain poured And once I heard you speak I knew Peace had been restored But this time is different from the other times you left And once I noticed I laid down and wept I saw forest trees sway again They didn't wait for you The moon and sun shine again The sky's always blue The birds bugs and wildlife Forgot you'd return That garden weed is dead Poor little fern You've been away for long before I've seen you walk out that door Your destination set I always Knew where you would head And I said I wouldn't forget But I did And now you're dead
